Government says it has saved around £100,000 thanks to people using its online services.
The Information Systems Division says it has now processed £500 million worth of payments since the internet system was introduced in 2007.
People can pay for things like tax, electricity and their rates at a time that suits them.
Payments in the last year account for 40 per cent of government’s revenue – an increase of 15 per cent from the year before.
According to the division six additional staff, at a cost of over £100,000, would have been required to process the volume of payments if traditional methods were being used.
