The Chief Minister has written to Prime Minister David Cameron to definitively state the Island’s position on tax information exchange in the run up to the G8 summit.
Over the years the Island has acquired ‘tax haven’ status, something that is gradually being erased given its standing as a leader in the field of tax co-operation and transparency.
Despite this however it is expected that the Island will come under scrutiny during the G8 as the world leader’s focus in on offshore finance centers.
The summit will be held in Northern Ireland later this month.
