Mark Cavendish became the first sprinter in five years to take the Giro d’Italia red jersey over the weekend.
Winning five stages, the 41st of his career, was enough to secure the coveted jersey.
It means he was won the point’s jersey at all three major tours.
The cycling press say the win has elevated him into the legends of the sport at the still relative young age of 28.
The omega quick step rider will be headed to the Tour de France next where he’ll be looking for continued success with his new team mates.
