Chris Thomas has been elected as the MHK for West Douglas. The election was called after one of the sitting MHKs, Geoff Corkish, was elevated to Legislative Council.
Former Rushen MHK Quintin Gill who lost his seat at the last General Election only managed to poll 229 votes today but this was new territory for Gill having served the South since 2001.
Another contender was Douglas Councillor, John Skinner. Mr Skinner had previoulsy stood for the Legislative Council and also stood as a Keys candidate at the last General Election. Mr Skinner came second in tonight's result with 399 votes.
There was a low turnout of only 39.7%
