A new patient charter has been launched which tells people what they can expect while in the care of the Island’s health service.
The Department of Health has launched the Dignity in Care charter which reinforces a commitment to providing care on an individual basis.
It’s centred around four themes – respect, privacy and modesty, self esteem and autonomy.
Shelagh Leonard, acting director of nursing and midwifery, says it’s a proactive stance:
