Sefton's tax bill is private says Minister

Thu, 02 May 2013

The Treasury Minister has refused to reveal how much the Sefton Group owes in unpaid tax and national insurance.

Middle MHK Howard Quayle asked for the figures in the House of Keys earlier this week saying he wanted to know how much money the group owed government.

It follows the multi-million pound controversial bail out deal which saw government loan the group £1.3 million.

However Eddie Teare says such information is under law and held in confidence by the assessor of income tax.

Chief Minister Allan Bell revealed the group has until June 30th to clear any relevant arrears which it is expected to do due to forecasted income in May and June.
