It’s been estimated that the recent snow and huge loss of livestock could cost the farming industry well over £1.7 million.
In the two weeks after the snow the Animal Waste Disposal team collected 5475 dead lambs and sheep and 331 cattle and calves.
It’s put a strain on Manx meat production as well as greatly diminishing what the farmers could hoped to have earned in the year.
