Chief Constable Gary Roberts has said more cut backs to the constabulary will have an impact on neighbourhood policing.
The Island has enviable crime rates and is regarded as a very safe place to live, the fresh neighbourhood approach has been cited as a major reason for this.
It was announced recently that Home Affairs will be cutting front line posts as they struggle to make £2 million of savings.
