A two-week bendy bus trial cost government just under £10,000.
The Department of Community, Culture and Leisure says it considers the trial, which took place last month, a “worthwhile investment”.
Five buses were tested on the Island’s roads in total - two developed faults and broke down which the department says was as a result of the buses being idle over the winter.
If the trial is deemed a success the department says it will take great care when selecting the buses and would replace any parts which could have deteriorated.
The buses are due to be used on school routes, saving around £300,000 a year, if given the go ahead.
