Landlords have more time to submit their views on new legislation which aims to improve the quality of rental properties.
The Department of Social Care is extending a consultation period on the Landlord and Tenant Bill for another six weeks.
The public consultation will now end on Friday, May 3rd.
The legislation would require landlords to be registered, and to meet a set of minimum standards, in an effort to clamp down on those who let properties which are poor quality.
Minister Chris Robertshaw says landlords are in the process of setting up a Landlords Association which is why he’s happy to extend the process:
