The outgoing chief executive of the Department of Education and Children admits it's been a turbulent two years in the job.
Stuart Dobson is retiring this summer after taking over the role in 2010.
During that time he's seen three ministers, cutbacks to pre-school provisions, radical changes to university funding, student protests and the opening of the £34 million St Ninian's Lower School.
Mr Dobson says it's been a roller-coaster ride under very difficult circumstances:
