The chief constable says police are changing their tactics in order to deal with the threat from organised criminals.
On Friday it was revealed that more than half a million pounds worth of drugs have been seized by officers in the last year.
Among the haul was £15,000 of heroin, £2,000 of cocaine and cannabis with a street value of £407,000.
Police say the safety of our community and quality way of life makes the Island an attractive target for criminals.
