A major new planning proposal for the south of the island will go before Tynwald this month.
The Southern Area plan replaces the current set of development plans, which were produced between 1982 and 1999.
The Department of Infrastructure says the aim is to strengthen the identity of individual settlements, to manage growth and development, and to preserve the landscape and natural environment of the south.
Government says the plan ensures economic development is supported through a modern planning policy framework.
More information on the plans can be found the DoI’s website.
