Tesco has been accused of being hypocritical for not stocking Manx meat following the recent horse meat scandal.
That’s the view of Environment, Food and Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne who says despite reassurances from the retailer, over its commitment to local products, he’s yet to see real results.
Tesco pulled Manx meat from its shelves a year ago after an unsatisfactory audit of the meat plant and concerns about the physical state of the building.
It’s just re-started selling it but Mr Gawne says it appears local producers have to jump through hoops:
