The Infrastructure Minister is refusing to publish the contract for the incinerator saying it’s commercially sensitive.
David Cretney was asked to release the document in the House of Keys yesterday by Onchan MHK David Quirk.
However he said the contract between his department and SITA Waste Ltd contained too much sensitive information.
Mr Quirk expressed his disappointment at the decision, saying if local authorities were now having to fund a large part of it, they should be able to see the details.
It follows the removal of a £5 million waste subsidy which will see authorities paying more to dispose of their waste - something which has sparked warnings of rate increases.
