Infrastructure workers who have been tackling the problems left by the snow and ice are being praised for their hard work.
Teams have worked around the clock since Friday to help keep the Island’s roads moving – as well as trying to reopen closed roads as quickly as possible.
Drifts of snow up to four feet deep have been cleared using snow ploughs and gritting machines and a new snow blower has also been used for the first time.
Roads maintenance manager Alan Hardinge says it’s been a busy period:
