Hollywood star Sam Barks has missed out on an Oscar nomination for her supporting role in Les Miserables.
The Laxey woman was strongly rumoured to get the nod for her portrayal of Eponine in the musical blockbuster.
However, Academy Awards organisers confirmed this afternoon that the 22-year-old had not made the list.
In her place included Les Mis co-star Anne Hathaway, Sally Field for the film Lincoln and Helen Hunt for The Sessions.
However, it’s not all bad news as Les Mis is up for numerous awards including Best Picture, Best Actor for Hugh Jackman and Best Director for Tom Hooper.
