The former Mayor of Douglas has criticised government's communication with the town's council.
Councillor Ritchie McNicholl says changes to local waste responsibility have been 'dropped' on local authorities and will hit Douglas the most.
At the end of last year the Department of Infrastructure annouced it would be phasing out a £5.7 million waste disposal subsidy over the next six years.
It's understood the council will now increase its rates by around £300,000 a year to cover subsequent costs.
Mr McNicholl says communication on the matter has been poor and, on the whole, Tynwald doesn't want to listen:
