Property owners have been reminded of the need to keep their derelict premises secure.
It follows a fire in an old guest house in Port Erin last week which took emergency services around five hours to deal with.
Police are investigating the cause of the fire but say they want to speak to a number of young people who are known to use the building.
Property owners have now been advised to make sure access to empty properties is restricted by barricading doors and windows if necessary.
