Buses will be operating as normal today for the start of the new school term.
Despite speculation that bus drivers would stage another walkout, further industrial action didn’t materialise.
Before any action can take place the drivers' union Unite must give government seven days' notice which it didn't do.
During a strike in the closing days of the last term children were forced to get the steam trains and electric trams to and from school.
However chief executive of the Department of Community, Culture and Leisure Nick Black says today it's business as usual:
