The Council of Ministers have given their support to the introduction of an Armed Forces Community Covenant in the Island.
The purpose of the Covenant is to recognise the special role and contribution of Island residents who serve, or have served in the British Armed Forces.
The UK Government formalised a similar initiative back in 2011.
This concept has been subject to consultation between August and October with the public feedback showing overwhelming support for the idea.
Home Affairs Minister Juan Watterson has spearheaded the whole process; he’ll be seeking Tynwald’s endorsement in this month’s sitting.
