Police are thanking two good Samaritans who went to the aid of a police officer in Douglas.
The lone constable had been trying to arrest a man in Duke Street at around 1pm on Boxing Day, when the suspect became violent and tried to flee the scene.
Two men spotted the struggle and jumped in to help so the offender could be handcuffed.
The pair disappeared before back up arrived and police want to thank them for their assistance and support.
They say it’s refreshing and reassuring to know there are people who would support and assist officers in situations like this.
The men are asked to contact PS McKillop or Inspector Shimmin at Police Headquarters.
