Drugs Advice Service and Helpline, DASH, has said banning legal substances isn’t necessarily deterring people from taking them.
It was revealed in Tynwald last week that MDAI, the substance which was responsible for the death of a local teenager last year, would have its ban extended for another 12 months.
Although a move in the right direction Shelly Stanley of DASH has said they are not seeing declining numbers in people using their service, with problems related to ‘legal highs’.
She said more needs to be done on educating people at an earlier age:
