Man in Nobles Hospital with serious head injuries following assault

A man was assaulted and received head injuries in a serious attack in Douglas in the early hours of this morning.

It occurred around 3.00am on Loch Promenade near to the junction of Walpole Avenue.

Police have described it as a very serious incident and are appealing for witnesses or people in the area at that time to come forward and offer any information.

It’s understood a man involved in the incident was picked up from that location by an unknown vehicle just after it occurred, the driver is asked also to come forward.

The identity of the victim has not been released; he is currently being treated at Nobles hospital and is said to be in a serious condition.
