Drivers welcome petrol news

Drivers have welcomed the news that prices at the pumps will remain unchanged in January - despite previous fears there would be a further hike.

It was announced in the UK Autumn Statement last week that the three pence rise in fuel duty would no longer be happening.

This has a bearing on the Isle of Man due to the reciprocal agreement between the two governments.

However it does mean that Treasury will no longer benefit from the extra revenue it would have generated annually.

Minister Eddie Teare says his department will now need to look for new ways in which to make up the money:
