Police are appealing for motorists to take extra care when driving as winter draws in.
The Roads Policing Unit says drivers need to slow down when travelling around the Island.
Particular care also needs to be taken near to any pools of standing water – traffic can spread this water onto the freezing roads which quickly forms black ice.
Motorists have also been asked to report any areas which are particularly badly affected so they can co-ordinate a response to the problem.
