The first letters have been sent out as part of government’s survey of household spending.
The survey will be sent to around 1,000 households geared toward finding out more about the average families spending habits.
The results will then be used to help confirm the share of VAT and customs revenue the Island is due under the existing agreement with the UK.
This initial correspondence is to explain the need for the survey, and offer individuals the chance to opt out of begin contacted any further.
The process is expected to take 12 months.
