Phone scammers doing the rounds on Island

There have been increased reports of a possible scam call doing the rounds from someone claiming to represent Microsoft.

The caller will say they have identified problems with your computer than need rectifying, which they will offer to do remotely, for a price.

You’re warned that this is not a legitimate phone call and there have been cases where the individual has lost lots of money as a result of complying.

Andrea Tabb from the Office of Fair Trading has this advice for anyone who feel they may be on the receiving end of a phone scam:
