The Island will benefit from a more joined up effort towards major pollution incidents in the rivers and coastal waters.
That’s according to the Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture which has produced a new emergency response plan to help ensure a timely and effective response.
Civil defence volunteers will now be trained up in pollution response training so they are able to respond to out of hour’s emergency calls.
