Discover role of Manx women in WW1

There’s a chance to find out more about the role of Manx women in the First World War tomorrow (Friday).

Manx National Heritage is holding a presentation as part of the lead up to the 100th anniversary of the outbreak of the war, which takes place in 2014.

The talk will look at women who nursed, worked in munitions factories and those who were widowed or bereaved.

It will be held at the Manx Museum at 11am. Admission is free.

Curator of Social History, Matthew Richardson, says it’s been a difficult presentation to prepare:
