A collection of timepieces owned by world famous horologist George Daniels made more than £8 million at auction yesterday.
Sotherby’s in London held the sale following the death of the watchmaker who lived on the Isle of Man.
137 lots were auctioned with two pieces raising well over £1 million each.
These included the “space travellers’ watch” in 18k yellow gold and a Joseph Knibb silver mounted ebony table clock which dates back to 1677.
