The Department of Infrastructure has stepped up its fight against repeat parking offenders.
Those who have racked up substantial fines and seem to show no signs of clearing their debts will now run the risk of having their vehicle removed to a secure location.
Failure to then clear the balance could result in the car being re-sold or even destroyed.
Infrastructure Minister David Cretney has said they are also taking a tough stance on people illegally parking in disabled spaces.
