The Chief Minister has said he hopes lessons will be learnt in the aftermath of the Douglas East by-election trial which saw two women found guilty of fraud after Campaign manager Buster Lewin had previously admitted all charges.
It related to the campaign for celebrity chef Kevin Woodford in the 2010 by-election.
Allan Bell said it has been a disappointing time for the Isle of Man, but with sentencing still to come and the possibility of appeals could not comment on the case further.
He did say however that getting public help is commonplace for each election campaign, but never to the extent detailed in this trial.
