Broadway to reopen early

A major route in Douglas is due to reopen ahead of schedule after it was closed for demolition works.

Broadway has been shut for the last month while work was carried out to demolish the former Mannin Hotel building.

It will be replaced with a 50 bedroom hotel.

The work is said to have progressed well and the road will now open a week early, from 6pm this Saturday (3rd Nov).

The next phase will take another 12 months but Broadway will be open as usual – albeit with narrower lanes.
