A support group for people suffering from dementia and other memory problems has been so successful it’s gained charity status.
Manx Decaf is a monthly cafe event where sufferers and their relatives and carers can meet to receive support.
It was first set up in 2006 by health and social care staff to offer help and advice and assist with referring people to specialists.
There are now three groups running – one in Douglas, Ramsey and Port Erin.
Chairman Peter Newbold says the illnesses are an increasing problem on the Island:
