Operation Christmas Child has launched its annual campaign asking the public to make a present box to send to some of the poorest areas of the world.
The charity's premise is to fill a shoe box with small gifts that can benefit a child in a poverty stricken country.
The boxes have been sent out to Liberia over the past two years, a country left ravaged by civil war.
Despite being one of the best areas of the UK for uptake of the initiative, the local arm of Operation Christmas Child has seen notable decline since 2008.
Co-ordinator of the on-Island effort Marlene Akitt says she's hoping this year will see an upsurge in numbers:
