Elderly woman treated for delayed shock following emergency landing

Fri, 19 Oct 2012

No passengers were seriously hurt following the emergency with a Manx2 plane at Ronaldsway yesterday.

The Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that emergency crews from Douglas, Castletown and Port Erin attended the scene.

They’d been informed that a Manx2 plane carrying 10 passengers was 10 minutes from landing but was operating on just one engine.

It’s been confirmed this was because of low oil pressure, but the plane still landed safely.

However, one elderly passenger required medical treatment for delayed shock.

Soon after landing the other passengers were transferred on to a standby aircraft to complete their journey to Newcastle.
