An Onchan woman broke down in the dock yesterday as she gave evidence in the ongoing election fraud trial.
25 year old Kerry Rothwell is one of the two remaining defendants facing the charges in relation to celebrity chef Kevin Woodford’s by-election campaign in May 2010.
She said her only regret was taking on the role of canvasser and denied accusations she’d deliberately misled people to vote for Mr Woodfood.
She claimed she had only been following the orders of the campaign boss and with hindsight wishes she had more knowledge of the job.
On the eve of the trial Charles Lewin of Braddan admitted three counts of election fraud.
The trial will continue today.
