The Department of Social Care has vowed to work alongside the Douglas Borough Council as they figure out the extent of work needed in Willaston.
The Willaston Estate consists of over 700 properties, some of which were built over 60 years ago.
Since 2008 the council has been raising awareness to the deteriorating exteriors with a condition survey flagging up numerous problems.
Although a figure is yet to be established it is expected to be a multi-million pound essential project, with Social Care Minister Chris Robertshaw giving it his full backing.
