The Fire and Rescue Service has confirmed the details of yesterday's incident at Douglas Power Station, which resulted in road closures and its staff being evacuated.
Crews were confronted with a fire involving the 415v switch room on the third level of the gas turbine hall just before 2pm.
Power had to be isolated before any breathing apparatus team made entry into the heavily smoke-logged compartment.
The fire was eventually extinguished after half an hour.
No injuries were reported, the fire service finished its safety operation by 2.40pm and all resources were returned to the station by 3.15pm.
