Manx National Heritage has published the findings of their recent consultation on how the money from a significant bequest should be allocated.
112 responses were received from the public after it was revealed John Donald Collister had left his £1 million estate to the Manx Museum and National Trust.
Among his estate was his extensive collection of war memorabilia, with many respondents wishing to see these items in a military museum context.
Several other themes emerged from the consultation, with those wanting to see the money go toward the support of the local community and associated events in Colby and Arbory as well as encouraging traditional skills.
We found out more when we spoke to the Director of MNH, Edmund Southworth
