An inquiry into a controversial planning application which could see almost 100 homes built on land at Michael School has been postponed.

It relates to Heritage Homes’ second application to build new property on the site - their original application was turned down earlier this year.

The application follows a land swap deal with the Department of Education and Children.

The revised proposal which is for five less dwellings than previously stated has been accused of being too similar to the one which was dismissed.

Inspector David Hollis was due to reconvene the inquiry next Thursday after preparing a report for the Council of Ministers - however due to ill health he has been forced to retire.

The Planning Appeals Office says a new inspector and hearing will be arranged as soon as possible.
