Organisers of the Island’s first literature festival say they’re hoping the event is a success so they can attract literary tourists in future.
Manx Litfest – a four day event which kicks off on Thursday – will celebrate bestselling authors and poets from around the British Isles.
As well as book signings, recitals and talks – including one by former BBC war correspondent Martin Bell OBE - there will be numerous activities for children including a Narnia meets Middle Earth day at Castle Rushen.
Festival director John Quirk says he knows of people travelling to the Island for the festival including a woman from America – and it’s hoped this can be built upon:
