Cable and Wireless Communications say it will make a further announcement in due course over an approach to buy out part of the company which owns Sure Mobile.
The Bahrainian telecommunications company “Batelco” has approached CWC in a bid to buy the island’s business.
According to reports Batelco is in early talks about buying stakes in various locations.
It’s thought this includes among others the Isle of Man, Channel Islands and the Falklands.
CWC has confirmed it has received an approach but says at this point there is no certainty that the discussion will lead to a transaction.
It says a further statement will be made, if appropriate, in due course.
