The trial of four Island residents accused of election fraud got underway yesterday.
The jury heard how celebrity chef Kevin Woodford’s team had attempted to manipulate voting proceedings in the by-election back in May 2010.
The court heard how there was no evidence that Mr Woodford knew what was happening.
The prosecution said the defendant’s targeted elderly residents as well as deaf and blind people, misleading them into applying for a proxy vote which they intended to use to boost Mr Woodford's votes in the by-election.
The trial is set to continue this morning.
