Police officer killed in Manchester was from the Isle of Man

It's emerged this evening that one of the police officers who was killed in an incident in Manchester today was from the Isle of Man.

32 year old PC Fiona Bone was fatally wounded after responding to reports of a burglary in Hattersley.

Her colleague PC Nicola Hughes, 23, was also killed.

Fiona had been a police officer for five years and was described as "an excellent bobby" by Greater Manchester Police

Her family are from Port St Mary and she was educated at Castle Rushen High School.

Tributes to Fiona are being left in abundance on social networking sites.
