A unit in the Southlands care facility is set to re-open next month after staffing issues were resolved.
The Department of Social Care says it has managed to recruit enough permanent, bank and agency staff to safely re-open the Gansey Unit.
Last month eight patients, who are elderly and mentally infirm, were forced to move to another care home in Douglas after staffing fell below an acceptable level.
Annual holiday and maternity and long term sick leave were blamed for the problem - leading to an angry reaction from the relatives of those affected.
Assistant director of adult social services, Cath Hayhow, says the sustainability of staff is now key:
