A Port Erin commissioner is welcoming the news of a reduction in the number of people serving on the board of Castletown’s local authority.
Last week it was revealed that Castletown Commissioners is planning to reduce its board from nine to seven.
The Department of Infrastructure has now called for other authorities to take the idea onboard with a public inquiry and a Tynwald vote on the matter in the pipeline.
Tony Wright put forward a motion to implement the same thing in Port Erin recently but was narrowly defeated.
He says the news is pleasing but thinks the streamlining could go further still:
