Compensation and injury benefits which are paid to government staff that are made redundant or injured at work are being reviewed.
The Public Sector Pensions Authority has set up a working group to look at modernising the benefits which are linked to various pension schemes.
PSSA vice chairman Alf Cannan will chair the working group.
He’s described the current benefit schemes as complex and says the employment landscape is now very different to how it was when the schemes were set up in 1980.
Proposals will be drawn up between employers and employees which will then go out for formal consultation.
