The Steam Packet had to apologise to hundreds of customers after mechanical issues meant the Ben-my-Chree was forced to turn around half way to Heysham yesterday.
The 2.15pm crossing from the English port was delayed by 12 hours for car passengers.
These people arrived back in to Douglas only this morning, however foot passengers were transferred to Liverpool yesterday.
Most car travellers in Heysham were left stranded there for around 14 hours while hundreds of passengers on the Douglas to Heysham crossing also had their travel plans disrupted
The ferry company blamed ‘technical issues’ for the disruption.
All issues appear to be rectified now with the schedule returned to normal.
